3 More Philosophy Substacks Worth Checking Out

Antagonisms of the Everyday: Philosophy, Culture, PoliticsPolitics and Philosophy on the irregularities and antagonisms of everyday life. Focusing on US,UK, European politics and political theory, psychoanalysis and continental philosophy, and neuroscience, culture, and literature.By Rafael Holmberg Rafael Holmberg is a PhD student in philosophy and psychoanalytic theory. His publications primarily focus on the intersection between political theory, continental philosophy, French and Freudian psychoanalysis, and German Idealism. In "Antagonisms of the Everyday" Holmberg uses these frameworks to interrogate the political status quo, the nature of psychoanalysis, and the potential for violence, delving into a variety of antagonisms and contradictions in contemporary culture. Thus the name of this insightful Substack, one of my favorite finds in the past couple weeks.

Marx & friendsHistorical materialism for understanding the madness of late capitalism.By Kevin Thomas "Marx & Friends" by Kevin Thomas is focused on applying Marxist thought to contemporary issues. The publication explores themes of capitalism, historical materialism, and the intersection of philosophy and current events. Thomas offers a critical lens for understanding the complexities of modern capitalism through the framework of Marx, Deleuze and Guattari, et al.

Turtleneck PhilosophyAn exploration of what it means to be human.By Gage Greer "Turtleneck Philosophy" by Gage Greer explores philosophical ideas in an accessible way and on a range of topics, including existentialism, nihilism, absurdism, and the nature of free will. Greer examines these themes through the lens of influential thinkers such as Dostoevsky, Sartre, and Arendt, aiming to unpack complex philosophical concepts and provide insights into the human condition. Throughout Greer encourages readers to reflect on their own experiences and engage with the fundamental questions about life and existence, making this Philosophy Substack interactive as well.
